Navigation Announcement No. 47/2022

Due to the completion of the removal of floating markings for the winter season, as of 9 December 2022, the following sections of the administered waterways are closed: 

  • Vistula River (including Włocławek Reservoir) km 295+200 – 510+600 and 515+600 – 680+000
  • Żerański Canal km 0 – 17+200,
  • Narew River (including Zegrze Reservoir) km 21+600 – 83+500,
  • Bug River km 0 – 42+200.

These sections of waterways will be reopened once the expected ice phenomena have receded, which will be announced by a relevant Notice to Skippers.

Note: The closure does not apply to the section of the Vistula waterway in the area of Warsaw between km 510+600 – 515+600, i.e. from the Łazienkowski Bridge to the Gdański Bridge in Warsaw. Should it be necessary to remove or reduce signage on this section due to ice phenomena, a separate Notice to Skippers will be issued.

Due to the construction of the bike and pedestrian bridge over the Vistula in Warsaw, as described in Notice to Skippers No. 8/2022 and as announced in Notice to Skippers No. 45/2022, the Vistula waterway at the construction site of the bike and pedestrian bridge in Warsaw, i.e. at the 513 km mark between the Świętokrzyski Bridge and the Śląsko-Dąbrowski Bridge in Warsaw, will be closed on 30 November 2022.

In view of the above, persons using the Vistula waterway in Warsaw are asked not to pass through the construction site on 30 November 2022.

Navigation Announcement No. 45/2022

Due to the construction of the bike and pedestrian bridge over the Vistula described in Navigation Announcement No. 8/2022, the Vistula waterway at the construction site, i.e. at the 513 km mark between the Świętokrzyski Bridge and the Śląsko-Dąbrowski Bridge in Warsaw, will be closed for one of the following days:

  • 1 December 2022

Due to issues related to the organisation of the construction in question, the date of closing will be confirmed next week and will be announced by a separate Notice to Skippers. Please follow the Notices to Skippers and obey the instructions of the site staff.

Navigation Announcement No. 44/2022

We announce the start of the reduction of navigational signs for the winter season on the following waterways:

  • Vistula River (including Włocławek Reservoir) km 295+200 – 510+600 and 515+600 – 680+000

Navigation Announcement No. 38/2022

On 15 October 2022 from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm in km 1+000 - 4+000 of the Żerań Canal waterway, that is on the stretch of about three kilometres below the bridge over Modlińska Street in Warsaw, the Warsaw Academic Boat Race "Warsaw River Race 2022" will be held.

Due to the above, on 15 October 2022 from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m, the Żerań Canal waterway at km 1+000 - 4+000 will be closed during the race.

There is a possibility to travel across that section between different rounds of competition upon agreement
with the Organiser of the regatta. Persons who will use the Żerań Canal waterway in the area of the regatta are asked to exercise extreme caution, as well as follow the instructions of the Organiser and services securing the event.

On 23-26 September 2022, at km 555–558 of the Vistula River Waterway, i.e. in the area of the town of Zakroczym, a film will be shot. The shooting will be done from the shore and using vessels.

Navigation Announcement No. 36/2022

In accordance with Notice to Skippers No. 29/2022, due to the ongoing reconstruction of the railway bridge at km 17+200 of the Żerań Canal, i.e. in the area of the Żerań Canal's outlet to Zegrze Lake, there are navigation difficulties in the form of narrowing of the navigable route and ongoing construction works. Please exercise extreme caution and follow the instructions of the construction area staff and the installed navigational signage.

The difficulties in question will continue until 31 October 2022.

In addition, from 19 September 2022 to 14 October 2022, the Żerań Canal waterway in the construction area will be closed. During this period, the waterway will be open from Monday to Friday for one hour a day, that is from 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays for the whole day. Navigation Announcement No. 35/2022

The most dangerous navigation obstacles under the navigation span of the South Bridge in Warsaw at km 500+000 of the Vistula waterway have been dismantled.

Therefore, the Vistula waterway in the South Bridge area is open.

At the same time, we would like to inform you that a significant number of piles remain in the Vistula riverbed in the area of the bridge, under the remaining spans and in the area of the pillars. It is only possible to pass under the navigation span – the far left span of the bridge – under the absolute condition of exercising extreme caution and refraining from approaching other elements protruding from the riverbed.

Navigation Announcement No. 34/2022

On 3 September 2022, the event called "Vistula Day" will be held on the waterway of the Vistula River.

The event will take place at 510+000 - 515+000 km of the Vistula waterway, i.e. in the area from the Łazienkowski Bridge to the Gdański Bridge in Warsaw, from 12:00 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Given the above, we would like to ask you to exercise particular caution when using this section of the Vistula River Waterway and to follow the instructions of the organisers and the event's security services.

In addition, due to the scheduled parade of vessels, the Vistula waterway at 510+000 - 515+000 km will be closed between 6:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. We ask users of the Vistula waterway who are not participating
in the parade to refrain from sailing on this section on the date in question.

Navigation Announcement No. 33/2022

The renovation of the Włocławek Lock has been completed and as of 12 August it will operate as follows:

  • open 24 hours a day, every day of the week,
  • recreational craft lockage takes place at designated times: 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm; or when a minimum of three craft gather,
  • vessel lockage will be performed if water level at the lower position of the stage (below the lock) will be equal or higher than the ordinate of 42.80 m above sea level; below this value, no lockage will take place.

Navigation markers have been placed on the Narew waterway, km 21+600 - 29+020, that is, from the dam in Dębe to the road bridge in Zegrze, and km 38+000 - 62+800, that is, from the mouth of the Bug River to the region of Pułtusk.

Therefore, from 5 August 2022, the waterways of the Narew River at km 21+600 - 29+020 and 38+000 - 62+800  are open for navigation.

On 5 August 2022, the minimum waterway depth at km 21+600 - 29+020  is equal to 178 cm at the headwater level of the Dębe reservoir, being 78.92 m above sea level. Kr.
On 5 August 2022, the minimum waterway depth in the section of km 38+000 - 62+800 is 80 cm with the water level of 161 cm at the Zambski Kościelne water level gauge.

Navigation Announcement No. 31/2022

"Festiwal Wisły 2022" [the Vistula Festival 2022] will take place on 12-13 August 2022 on the Vistula waterway in Włocławek.

The festival will take place at km 678-680, i.e. from the marina at ul. Piwna 1 to the level of the water stage and behind the stage to the exit of ul. Bechiego and in the area of the island opposite Marschall Józef Piłsudski Boulevard in the beach section of Włocławek.
Given the above, we would like to ask you to exercise particular caution when using this section of the Vistula River Waterway and to follow the instructions of the organisers and the event's security services.

In addition, due to the planned events, we would like to ask the users of the Vistula waterway who do not plan to participate in the Festival to refrain from navigating in this area on the dates of the following events:

  • 12 August 2022 at 5:00 p.m. - 5:20 p.m.: a parade of ships and river boats participating in the Festival,
  • 13 August 2022 at 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.: "Przepłyń Wisłę" [Swim the Vistula] – swimming across the Vistula River,
  • 13 August 2022 at 4:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.: a parade of ships and river boats participating in the Festival,
  • 13 August 2022 at 8:00 p.m  - 8:15 p.m.: a parade of ships and river boats participating in the Festival.

The "Vistula W Hour" cruise will take place from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on the section from the area of Podzamcze in km 514 of the Vistula River Waterway to the area of the Landing Zone Plate in km 511 of the Vistula River Waterway. We inform of problems related to inland navigational due to the remains of the construction works in the area of the Southern Bridge on the Vistula River in Warsaw, at km 500 of the navigable route of the Vistula River.

Due to dangerous structural elements left in the Vistula riverbed in the area of the navigation span, the Vistula waterway in the area of the Southern Bridge at km 500 of the Vistula navigable route is closed until said obstacles are removed.

Navigation signage has been installed on the Vistula River waterway between km 456+700 and 500+000, i.e. from the mouth of the Pilica River to the South Bridge in Warsaw.

As of 10 May 2022, the minimum waterway depth in the above-mentioned section is 1.0 m with a water level of 91 cm at the Gusin water gauge.

of Wyszogród.

As of 21 April 2022, the minimum waterway depth in the above-mentioned section is 1.1 m and the water-level gauge in Wyszogród shows the water level
at 384 cm.

The Żerań Lock operates according to the following rules:

  • open daily from Monday to Sunday and on public holidays from 7.00 am - 3.00 pm,
  • from May to September – on every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday, the operation time of the lock is extended to 7.00 pm,
  • the last passage starts no later than half an hour before the end of the lock operation time, i.e. respectively at 2.30 pm or 6.30 pm during the extended operation time of the lock.

Navigation Announcement No. 12/2022

In accordance with Art. 3 point 6 of the Act of 17 November 2021 on amending the Act on specific solutions related to the prevention, counteraction and eradication of COVID-19, other infectious diseases and crisis situations caused by them and certain other Acts (Dz.U./Journal of Laws/ of 2021, item 2368), Art. 568b was added to the Act of 20 July 2017 – Water Law (Dz.U. /Journal of Laws/ of 2021, item 2233).

Pursuant to this Article, from 1 March 2022 to 31 December 2022, entities performing activities referred to in Art. 306 sec. 1 of the Act of 20 July 2017 – Water Law (Dz. U. /Journal of Laws/ of 2021, item 2233) i.e.:

  • transport of persons on passenger and cruise ships,
  • transport of goods on cargo ships,
  • navigation of empty cargo ships,
  • towing or floating of timber,
  • use of locks or inclined planes,

shall be exempt from fees for the use of inland waterways and sections thereof as well as the water facilities owned by the State Treasury located on inland surface waters.

Navigation markings have been set up at the Bug Waterway's km 00+000 – 42+000 section, i.e. between the mouth of the Bug River and the mouth of the Liwiec River.

Therefore, starting from 4 April 2022, the km 00+000 – 42+000 section of the Bug Waterway is open for traffic.

As of 4 April 2022, the minimum waterway depth at the above section is 0.6 m, with the water level at the Wyszków water gauge at 250 cm.

Navigation markings have been set up at the Narew Waterway's km 29+020 – 38+000 section, i.e. at the Zegrze Lake, between the Zegrze road bridge and the mouth of the Bug River.

Therefore, starting from 4 April 2022, the Narew Waterway's km 29+020 – 38+000 section is open for traffic.

As of 4 April 2022, the minimum waterway depth at the km 29+020 – 38+000 section is 1.7 m, with the water level at the Zambski Kościelne water gauge at 248 cm.

Navigation Announcement No. 09/2022

Navigation markings have been set up on the Vistula Waterway at the km 590+000 – 620+000 section, i.e. between Wyszogród and Kępa Ośnicka.

Therefore, starting from 4 April 2022, the km 590+000 – 620+000 section of the Vistula Waterway in Warsaw is open for traffic.

As of 4 April 2022, the minimum waterway depth at the above section is 0.9 m, with the indicated water level at the Kępa Polska water gauge at 286 cm.

Navigation Announcement No. 08/2022

Construction works on a bike and pedestrian bridge over the Vistula are underway near the Vistula Waterway's 513+500 km mark, i.e. between the Świętokrzyski Bridge and the Śląsko-Dąbrowski Bridge in Warsaw.

Due to the operations of the Contractor's vessels and ongoing construction works, any users of the Vistula waterway crossing through the area in question are asked to exercise extreme caution.

Navigation Announcement No. 07/2022

Navigation navigation signs have been set up on the Vistula waterway from km 646 to km 675, i.e. the Włocławek Water Reservoir from the mouth of the Skrwa River to the Water Barrage in Włocławek.

Therefore, from 31 March 2022, the Vistula waterway from km 646 to km 675 is open to traffic.

As of 31 March 2022, the minimum waterway depth at the above section is equal to 2.7 m with the headwater level in the Włocławek Water Reservoir equal to 57.22 m above sea level.

Navigation Announcement No. 06/2022

Navigation marking has been installed on the Vistula waterway at 675 – 680 km, i.e. from the Włocławek Dam to the mouth of the Zgłowiączka River.

For this reason, Vistula waterway at 675 - 680 km is open to traffic from 30 March 2022. 

As of 30 March 2022, the minimum waterway depth at the above section is 1.3 m with a water level of 211 cm at the Włocławek water gauge.

Navigation Announcement No. 05/2022

Navigation marking has been installed on the Vistula waterway at 295+200 – 431+900 km, i.e. from the mouth of the Sanna River to the mouth of the Radomka River.

For this reason, Vistula waterway in Warsaw at 295+200 – 431+900 km is open to traffic from 29 March 2022. We would like to remind about the weir, located at 425+950 km of the Vistula river near Świerże Górne, raising water level for the purpose of the Kozienice Power Plant. The waterway in the weir area remains closed until further notice. Details and information on how to cross the weir are published in the Notice to Skippers no. 04/2022.

As of 29 March 2022, the minimum waterway depth at the above section is 0.6 m with a water level of 179 cm at the Warsaw-Nadwilanówka water gauge.

In connection with the construction of a weir to raise the water level for the Kozienice Power Plant, the navigation waterway at km 425+950 of the Vistula river near Świerże Górne remains closed.

Floating navigation signs have been set up on the Vistula waterway between the 500+100 km mark and the 507+100 km mark, i.e. between the Południowy (South) Bridge and the Gdański Bridge in Warsaw.

Due to the above, starting from 21 March 2022, Warsaw's Vistula waterway at the Siekierkowski Bridge – Gdański Bridge section is open to traffic.

As of 21 March 2022, the minimum waterway depth at the above section is 1.6 m with a water level of 176 cm at the Warsaw-Nadwilanówka water gauge.

Floating navigation signs have been set up on the Vistula waterway between the 515+600 km mark and the 520+300 km mark, i.e. between the Gdański Bridge and the Żerański Canal in Warsaw.

Due to the above, starting from 18 March 2022, Warsaw's Vistula waterway at the Gdański Bridge – Żerański Canal entrance section is open to traffic.

As of 18 March 2022, the minimum waterway depth at the above section is 1.4 m, with a water level of 106 cm, as indicated by the Warszawa-Bulwary water gauge.

The floating marking of the navigation route has been installed on the Vistula waterway from 507+100 to 515+600 km, i.e. from the Siekierkowski Bridge to the Gdański Bridge in Warsaw.
